EMPOWERING YOUNG VOICES THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

Teaching photography to middle and high school students has been profoundly rewarding. From my years with Girls for Gender Equity's Urban Leaders Academy to my summer workshop series for the New York Public Library, I developed a curriculum focusing on visual communication, personal representation, and social justice, empowering students to use photography for self-expression.

A significant highlight was leading a two-year initiative with the Inside Out Project, where students created 90 striking 3'x4' indoor murals, permanently transforming school hallways into powerful canvases of their stories. These experiences have deepened my connection to community and belief in the power of visual storytelling to uplift marginalized voices. I welcome collaborations for workshops and mural projects that advocate for change through photography. Let's create together!
